Starting from October 2025, a new list of countries has been approved where documents for temporary residence permits in Lithuania and visa applications can be submitted.
Starting from October 22, 2025, the list of foreign countries where foreigners can submit applications for temporary residence permits or national visas through external service provider branches is changing.
As of this date, branches of the external service provider will be closed in Albania, Argentina, the United Arab Emirates, Tajikistan, and Venezuela. At the same time, new branches will be opened in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ghana, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. A new branch in Mongolia will start operating earlier, from July 1, 2025.
On the possibility of making a request
A foreign national will also be able to submit an application for a temporary residence permit in the Republic of Lithuania or a national visa in a country not included in the list, provided that a Lithuanian ministry or an authorized institution intermediates on behalf of the applicant, with the approval of the Ministry of the Interior.
The updated list of branches abroad was prepared based on the needs expressed during public consultations by employers, universities, and other social groups, as well as on the conclusions provided by relevant government institutions.
